On 16 July from 13:00 – 14:30, techUK will convene a roundtable with a senior government representative (TBC) from DSIT or DBT and leaders from across the tech sector to review the implementation of the Government’s Digital & Tech Sector Plan, one year on from its publication. The roundtable will take place at techUK’s office at 10 St. Bride Street, London.

Last year, the Government published the Digital & Tech Sector Plan as part of the Modern Industrial Strategy. The plan set out over 50 interventions, with the goal of making the UK one of the top three locations globally to create, invest in, and scale up a fast-growing technology business. Since then, Government has been working to deliver on these commitments, implementing policies to support the growth of the UK’s tech sector and strengthen the country’s position as a global technology leader.

This roundtable will give members the opportunity to share how the strategy is impacting them in practice and feed back directly to Government on its implementation and impact to date. Discussions will also inform techUK's ongoing analysis and engagement on the Industrial Strategy.

The session will cover a range of topics including:

  1. Progress in the first year of the Digital & Tech Sector Plan
  2. Challenges and barriers to the implementation of the Plan
  3. Where next as the Industrial Strategy enters its second year

If you would like to attend, please register your interest using the link above. We will confirm attendance closer to the date.
