This pillar emphasises technology's role as a force for good, crucial in developing effective policy and regulatory solutions that drive economic digitisation, productivity, and inclusive growth.
Protecting the planet
Rooted in our belief in technology's potential, this pillar highlights its role in driving sustainability and preserving our planet. We emphasise its role in protecting our land, seas, and biodiversity.

On July 2nd, we hosted our Annual Dinner, our biggest event of the year, bringing together over 600 tech industry leaders to connect and celebrate the role of technology in shaping the present and future of people, society, the economy, and the planet. During this special event, we also announced our annual President’s Awards winners.

'The People Behind Tech for Good' are a series of interviews that aim to spotlight rising social innovators who are addressing today's most pressing challenges through technology. These are techUK member companies' employees/teams/departments (regardless of seniority) who are passionate about a particular topic and who are going beyond their roles (but through their companies) to inspire change.

Tech for Good Alliance 🤝 techUK
The Tech for Good Alliance is a UK wide initiative that provides a service for tech and tech related businesses to help them establish tech for good programmes as part of their CSR and ESG commitments.
The Tech for Good Alliance encourages companies to join forces to creative positive change which aligns closely with techUK's mission of championing technology's role in preparing and empowering the UK for what comes next, delivering a better future for people, society, the economy and the planet.
Developing a tech for good programme within an organisation brings many benefits, helps support company culture and cohesion, making it an attractive destination for new talent as well as helping develop and retain the current team. This pro bono activity is supported by a platform that provides volunteer recognition and evidence of impact. Our projects aim to deliver scalable outcomes maximising the impact of the work done by our member companies and their skilled teams.
The partnership between techUK and the Tech for Good Alliance sits at the heart of the tech for good ecosystem in the UK, creating an environment in which the contributions of all participants are aggregated and amplified and in which the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

TechGiving is a special initiative dedicated to highlighting the remarkable efforts of our members as they participate in charitable events and opportunities that leverage technology for the greater good.
Geo-targeted ‘Urgent Missing Appeals’ to be served to millions of train travellers
The charity Missing People has partnered with Trainline to launch a new initiative in the UK, creating geo-located urgent and current missing person appeals landing directly on users’ phones.
