Scale-up Council
The Council is a group of representatives of companies in techUK's membership who work together to oversee the strategic leadership and direction of techUK's scale-up programme, including policy positioning and outputs towards ensuring tech and science scale-up firms scale and stay in the UK.
Digital economy
The UK tech sector employs over 1.7 million people and adds over £150bn to the UK economy every year. At techUK, our aim is to ensure the UK remains one of the best places to start and grow a tech firm with benefits for our people, society, economy and planet.
Emerging Tech Leadership Committee
The Emerging Tech Leadership Committee will equip techUK, our membership, and the wider UK technology sector with the tools, insights, and expertise necessary to ensure future UK leadership in emerging, converging and exponential technologies.

Mia Haffety
Policy Manager - Digital Economy, techUK
Mia joined techUK in September 2023 within the Digital Infrastructure and Climate team(s) before transitioning to the Digital Economy team in April 2024.
Before joining techUK, Mia worked as a Senior Policy Adviser at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) sitting within the Policy Unit.
Mia holds an MSc in International Development from the University of Manchester and a BA(Hons) in Politics and International Relations from the University of Nottingham.
Outside of work, Mia enjoys running, yoga, bouldering and art.

Edward Emerson
Head of Digital Economy, techUK
Edward leads the Digital Economy programme at techUK, which includes our work on online safety, fraud, and regulation for growth initiatives.
He has prior experience working for the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and has previously worked for a number of public affairs consultancies specialising in research and strategy, working with leading clients in the technology and financial services sectors.
