On 26 September, part of the Leeds Digital Festival, we hosted a techUK event in partnership with DAC Beachcroft, which focused on highlighting opportunities for tech suppliers in the West Yorkshire region.
On 11 September, techUK held a workshop from 9:30 to 12:30 with DSIT’s Responsible Technology Adoption Unit (RTA), featuring an address from Felicity Burch, Director of RTA and facilitation by Nuala Polo, AI Assurance Lead of RTA with attendance from techUK’s Digital Ethics working group members. This session allowed for testing and feedback on a forthcoming assurance tool set for public consultation in Autumn 2024.

On 22 August, techUK hosted a webinar that explored several critical questions around the sustainability of data centres in the age of AI. Our speakers from Kao Data, ERM, Cadence Design Systems and Marchini Curran Associates delved into the complexities of AI's impact on water consumption in data centres, examining how cooling methods, climate, and site innovations influence water usage.
