In collaboration with the Telecoms Security and Diversification Working Group

While the security of the UK’s public 5G networks has received significant focus following the Telecoms Supply Chain Review and Telecommunications (Security) Bill, the security risk in private and hybrid networks needs equivalent scrutiny. As the growth of private networks continues throughout the 2020s, particularly in critical national infrastructure deployments, this session will explore the regulatory framework considerations for private 4G/5G. We will focus discussions on the scope, purpose and goals of regulation in this space: mindful of how private networks process commercially sensitive data and protect and secure IP.

We will also examine the value of an operational model for private networks in relation to: security and liability, impact on telecoms supply chain diversification (testing and interoperability), end-point security and monitoring, and data privacy considerations.

Speakers:

  • Tiago Rodrigues, CEO, Wireless Broadband Alliance
  • Piotr Linke, Consulting Engineer, Mobile Infrastructure Security at Palo Alto Networks
