Scottish Labour are currently developing their manifesto ahead of the 2026 elections and are seeking views on how technology can be used to drive economic growth, innovation and public sector reform.

In partnership with Scottish Labour’s economy spokesperson Daniel Johnson MSP, techUK will be hosting a roundtable focused on transforming public services through technology, with a particular focus on health, social care and social security.

Scotland is facing significant financial challenges and public services are under extreme pressure as a result. By deploying technology appropriately, we can boost productivity, and deliver better, more efficient, person-centred public services.

Bringing together techUK members, the roundtable will explore:

  • The immediate challenges facing our public services, that could be addressed through technology implementation
  • How digital platforms can be used to streamline public service delivery
  • The main barriers to adoption and how they can be overcome
  • How to ensure government is flexible and adaptable to new technologies
