2025 was a year of major significance for data policy in both the UK and EU, with, amongst other measures, the passage of the UK’s Data (Use and Access) Act and the enforcement of the EU’s Data Act and introduction of their Digital Omnibus proposing key changes to the GDPR. The tech sector is inherently global, with many of our members operating in both jurisdictions. As a result, we regularly call for alignment between UK and EU data legislation.

However, given the pace of change, we want to make sure these calls are as specifical as possible, and, crucially, accurately reflect our members’ views on where we should align or diverge. To assist this work, please join techUK and DIGITALEUROPE for this workshop, which will provide a unique opportunity to firmly establish where the best practice learnings are from each region and how we can incorporate this into our future messaging. This event is particularly timely, as it precedes the upcoming UK-EU Digital Dialogue (now anticipated for February 2026) and will be instrumental in informing techUK’s strategic messaging and approach to the discussions.
