This session will explore what the current copyright and text and data mining debate means for AI adoption and, in turn, for data centres. Drawing on Public First’s recent paper, the presentation will look at how the rules affecting AI training, fine-tuning and inference could shape the pace of AI deployment across different sectors, and what that means for future demand for compute, cloud and data centre capacity. It will also look at the wider economic implications, including how more restrictive approaches could reduce AI take-up and investment across the economy.
