Frontier compute represents the next paradigm in computing – one that will underpin transformative innovations and applications across the UK’s most strategically important sectors. From healthcare and drug discovery to advanced manufacturing, energy systems, financial services, defence and artificial intelligence, frontier compute will provide the foundational capability required to accelerate R&D, strengthen national resilience, and drive long-term economic growth.

As the UK looks to build on the ambitions set out in 2025’s UK Compute Roadmap, attention must now turn to what comes next: how we design, power, access and deploy the next generation of compute technologies.

This launch event will mark the start of techUK’s year-long Frontier Compute Sprint Campaign, convening industry, policymakers and researchers to explore how the UK can lead in the development and adoption of advanced compute capabilities.

Why attend?

Frontier compute is being shaped by the convergence of advanced semiconductor design, novel architectures, software optimisation, infrastructure innovation, energy systems and emerging paradigms including quantum, photonic, neuromorphic and biologically inspired computing. Together, these breakthroughs are redefining the limits of performance, efficiency and scalability.

However, technological progress alone is not enough. Strategic coordination between government and industry is essential to ensure the UK is building the infrastructure, talent base and regulatory environment required to compete globally.

Join us to hear from leading experts and industry pioneers as we explore how the UK can seize the frontier compute opportunity. Whether you are an innovator, policymaker, investor, researcher or business leader, this event is your opportunity to:

✅ Hear insights from experts across the UK’s compute ecosystem about the technologies and applications shaping the next frontier of compute

✅ Contribute directly to the scope, priorities and activity of techUK’s brand-new Frontier Compute sprint campaign

✅ Connect with peers from across the UK’s compute landscape

✅ Discover new avenues for collaboration, innovation, and strategic advantage
