From the fibre optic cables carrying the world’s internet traffic to the sensors keeping autonomous vehicles on the road, photonics – or the science and technology of light – is foundational to the UK's economic and technological future.

While the UK’s photonics sector generates £8.6 billion in economic value and employs 84,000 people, there is still considerable potential to be realised.

This industry briefing event brings together photonics companies, researchers and policymakers to meet, learn and chart a shared course for UK leadership.

Why attend?

  • Be the first to hear the key conclusions and recommendations from techUK's recently launched photonics report, developed our recent six-month focus on Photonics
  • Hear from leading experts and discover what a flurry of recent photonics announcements and papers means for industry
  • Help to produce tangible next steps that ensure the sector acts as one as it moves from strategy to implementation at pace
  • Network with peers from across the photonics space and adjacent sectors
