The UK has set itself an ambitious target. By 2035, the UK Government wants to deploy the world's most advanced quantum network at scale and lay the groundwork for a future quantum internet. Mission 2 of the UK's National Quantum Missions is not a distant aspiration. It is a funded, government-backed programme with real implications for telecoms infrastructure, digital resilience, and the companies building the connectivity stack of tomorrow.

If quantum networks are not yet on your radar, they probably should be.

What this webinar covers

This session will give attendees a grounded introduction to quantum networks and what they actually are, before turning to the harder questions: Where is industry demand today? How realistic are the 2035 timelines? And what does this mean for telecoms and digital infrastructure businesses right now?

Expect two expert presentations followed by an open Q&A, designed to surface the questions your organisation needs to be asking.

Why it matters

Mission 2 has four core ambitions that will reshape the UK's connectivity landscape:

  • Scale computing - networked quantum processors within and between data centres, dramatically expanding the power available for high-impact applications
  • Nationwide connectivity - secure quantum links between researchers and users across major UK cities and locations
  • Early commercialisation - near-term testing and demonstration of quantum communications, building supply chains and operational know-how
  • International leadership - collaboration with at least five countries on underpinning technologies, satellite links, and global quantum networking standards

Who should attend

This webinar is designed for technology companies and policy professionals who work in or alongside telecoms, digital infrastructure, satellite communications, and emerging technology. No quantum background is needed.

This session sits within techUK's Secure and Resilient Connectivity series, part of our Advanced Connectivity Technologies programme, and Quantum Readiness Series which helps industry prepare for commercially viable quantum technologies.
