Reimagining CareTech focus week #SocialCareTransformation

Welcome to techUK's Reimagining CareTech focus week - 22–26 June.

Reimagining CareTech focus week is techUK's dedicated focus on the future of digitally enabled adult social care, bringing together policymakers, local government, NHS leaders, care providers, the voluntary and community sector, and technology suppliers around one shared question: how do we turn the ambitions of the NHS 10-Year Plan into delivery on the ground?

The week takes place at a pivotal moment for the sector, set against the NHS 10-Year Plan, the work of the Casey Commission, Local Government Reorganisation and the accelerating shift from analogue to digital. Together these reforms reflect a growing recognition that the ambitions for prevention, neighbourhood care and integrated services cannot be achieved without a modern, digitally enabled social care system.

At the heart of the Week is the launch of techUK's flagship white paper, Why digital adult social care transformation is central to the future of the NHS, developed through the Social Care Working Group. The paper makes the case that the technology to deliver the 10-Year Plan already exists, predictive monitoring, interoperable records, AI-enabled decision support and digital telecare are mature, deployed capabilities. What is missing is the coordination layer around them: aligned commissioning, consolidated data standards, joined-up assurance, stronger interoperability and shared accountability across health, care, government and industry. Much of this, the paper argues, can be acted on now by redirecting and pooling existing funding through NHS prevention budgets, the Better Care Fund and Section 75 flexibilities, rather than waiting for longer-term reform. It features case studies from across the sector and sets out clear, action-oriented recommendations for national government, local and strategic authorities, ICSs, ICBs and industry.

The centrepiece of the Week is the techUK CareTech Conference 2026, a full-day event marking the launch of the white paper. We are delighted to confirm that the keynote addresses will be delivered by Stephen Kinnock MP, Minister of State for Care, and Isaac Samuels OBE.
