techUK, in partnership with DSIT, is convening a closed roundtable to bring together security and resilience stakeholders from across the UK technology sector to discuss the risks posed by disruption to subsea cable infrastructure and how industry can best prepare.
This is a closed event for techUK members. The roundtable will operate under Chatham House rules and the content of discussions will not be shared publicly. techUK members wishing to attend should register their interest using the button above. Places are limited and attendance will be confirmed by the techUK team.
Subsea cables carry the vast majority of the world's international data traffic, underpinning everything from financial transactions and cloud services to communications and critical national infrastructure. For the UK tech sector, the resilience of this infrastructure is an operational risk that demands serious planning and cross-sector collaboration.
techUK is pleased to be hosting this roundtable jointly with DSIT, providing a trusted forum for industry and government to engage openly on subsea cable risk, share preparedness approaches, and explore where deeper collaboration could strengthen the UK's collective resilience.
The roundtable is designed to both inform government through current approaches and industry perspectives, as well as provide techUK members the context needed to plan effectively.
By the end of the session, we aim to have provided industry with a substantive update on DSIT's current thinking on subsea risk to inform tech sector resilience and preparedness planning. The session will also help gather evidence for DSIT on how organisations currently approach severe disruption scenarios, where additional government support would be welcomed, and the level of industry appetite for further collaboration in this space.
