UK retailers are facing an unprecedented crime challenge. Police-recorded shoplifting exceeded 500,000 incidents last year, while retailers estimate over 20 million thefts annually, costing the sector £2.2bn in losses and more than £4bn including security and prevention measures. Violence and abuse towards store staff now exceeds 2,000 incidents per day.

Join techUK as we explore how technology can help address the current scale and impact of retail crime. The session will bring together stakeholders from the retail sector, policing, and the wider business community for a collaborative discussion. techUK members are invited to take part in a roundtable examining how technology can support retailers and law enforcement by reducing incidents, streamlining reporting processes, improving trend analysis, and enhancing staff safety.

You will be hearing from:

  • Lisa Maslen, Superintendent | National Business Crime Centre
  • Stephanie Coombes, Head of Intelligence | OPAL, National Intelligence Unit for Serious Organised Acquisitive Crime
  • Rav Pathania, Chief Inspector - Lead Responsible Officer – Business Crime | Metropolitan Police Service
  • Ian Dyson, Safer Business Network
  • Catherine Shuttleworth, CEO, Savvy
  • Ben McDonald, Senior Corporate Protection Manager, Morrisons

This is a fully in person event and tickets are limited.
