This event will bring together techUK members to consider the rising energy demands of cloud-enabled digital transformation and ask how the UK can ensure it continues to enjoy the benefits of emerging technologies like AI while meeting its net-zero ambitions. We will also consider how the economic and innovation value of these technologies reinforces the need for ongoing investment in digital and energy infrastructure.
The panel will explore the energy needs of cloud computing and cloud-enabled AI, alongside more traditional on-premises IT solutions, highlight opportunities for the cloud industry to be as energy-efficient and sustainable as possible, and consider what might be needed from energy companies, the national grid and UK Government to facilitate a sustainable future for digital transformation.
The panel will include:
- Pip Squire, Head of Sustainability, Ark Data Centres
- Lewis Richards, Chief Sustainability Officer, Microsoft UK
- James Hall, Head of GreenOps, Greenpixie
Additional panel members will be announced soon.
