techUK will host a series of industry roundtables in partnership with the UK Government to support engagement around the Mobile Market Review (MMR) being led by DSIT.
The MMR provides an opportunity to take stock of how the UK mobile market is evolving and to consider whether the current policy and regulatory framework is equipped to support future investment, innovation and strong consumer outcomes. As mobile connectivity becomes increasingly central to the UK’s digital economy, the review will explore how emerging technologies, changing market structures and evolving consumer expectations are shaping the future of the sector.
This roundtable will focus on the future of connectivity, exploring how technological change is reshaping mobile networks and the wider connectivity ecosystem.
Discussion will consider how developments such as cloud-based network architectures, artificial intelligence and new connectivity models are influencing investment decisions, market dynamics and consumer experiences. Participants will also explore how the evolution of the mobile ecosystem may impact coverage, service quality and the structure of the retail market in the years ahead.
The session will bring together stakeholders from across the connectivity ecosystem, including mobile operators, infrastructure providers, satellite providers, technology companies and other organisations active in the mobile market.
A full agenda and discussion questions will be shared with confirmed attendees ahead of the session.
