This event will explore crucial aspects of AI assurance in healthcare settings. The session will bring together industry experts, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to discuss the implementation of AI verification, validation, and monitoring mechanisms within the health and social care sector. The event opens with a keynote on building trust through AI assurance, followed by a comprehensive panel discussion on industry developments and progress in healthcare AI implementation.
The afternoon will feature practical demonstrations of real-world applications in healthcare, complemented by a presentation on essential tools and frameworks for responsible AI innovation. A fireside panel focusing on critical requirements for AI assurance in the NHS will round out the formal proceedings, followed by networking opportunities.
The health and social care sector represents a critical frontier for AI assurance, dealing with sensitive personal data, life-critical medical decisions, and complex stakeholder relationships. The existing regulatory framework, including clinical safety standards and data protection requirements, provides a foundation for developing comprehensive AI assurance mechanisms.
The sector's experience with evidence-based practice and clinical governance offers valuable insights for broader AI assurance frameworks, particularly as healthcare organisations work to balance the transformative potential of AI with robust safety measures and ethical considerations.
This event forms part of a broader sector-specific AI Assurance campaign and will contribute to a paper showcasing AI adoption in sector-specific contexts, particularly highlighting how members are embedding ethics in their practices.

This Data Vision Series event brought together leaders from industry, the pharmaceutical sector, and the research community to explore both the practical opportunities and the genuine limits of synthetic data. The discussion cut through hype to address the hard questions: When does synthetic data genuinely protect privacy, and when does it fall short? What can organisations do to ensure it is used responsibly? And what does this technology mean for the future of data access in the UK?
Our first AI Leader’s Series session of 2026 brought together leading experts to explore what neuro AI actually means in practice, how it differs from conventional AI approaches, and what organisations need to consider as these technologies mature.
Innovate UK will become more deliberate about what technologies, sectors and businesses they support under a new strategy that is designed to address the challenge of transforming world-class research and early-stage innovation in the UK into globally competitive businesses.
