Opportunities for UK Tech Businesses in Germany, via the State of North Rhine-Westphalia

On 10 May 2022 we held a virtual 1-hr webinar where we heard from representatives of NRW.Global Business, the region’s Trade and Investment Agency and discussed opportunities for UK tech firms to use the region as a springboard to doing business in the EU Single Market.

Our speakers outline the legal fundamentals for companies wanting to grow in Germany and answer any post-Brexit questions regarding doing business in Germany.

The aim of this session was to:

  • To assist UK tech orientated companies looking to set up and grow in NRW, Germany
  • To encourage UK tech focused companies to consider the EU as an easily accessible, growing market “on our doorstep”
  • To answer any post-Brexit questions regarding doing business in Germany

Germany is the UK’s second largest export market for goods and services and the epicentre of EU trade opportunities. It is forecast by trade and business analysts alike as having great potential for trade growth.

North Rhine-Westphalia is located in the industrial and technology heartland of Germany and is responsible for a fifth of Germany’s gross domestic product, making it one of Europe’s most important economic regions.

The session was particularly relevant for technology driven companies working in smart and sustainable energy, future mobility and logistics, smart cities, connected homes sectors, and those working in IoT, AI/ML and Digital Twins.
