Nominations now OPEN to join techUK’s Nations & Regions Council

Members can now nominate themselves for the Nations & Regions Council helping techUK set the agenda for growing the digital economy across the UK

Nominations are now open for twenty techUK members to join Nations and Regions Council for a tenure of two years (March 2024 – March 2026).This is a new committee helping to set the strategic direction for techUK’s work across the UK’s Nations and Regions, develop and grow the Local Digital Index and highlight the importance of the UK’s digital economy.

The NRC will engage with stakeholders in devolved government across the UK helping support techUK’s engagement, feedback and relationship with these important partners to the UK’s tech sector and ensuring the programme accurately reflects members’ and our partners priorities.

The Nations & Regions Council will vote for the positions of Chair and two Vice-Chairs of the group (one role is reserved for an SME Vice Chair). Ten of the seats on the Committee are reserved for Small and Medium sized Enterprise (SME) representatives. You may nominate yourself for both Chair and Vice-Chair positions. If so, you will also nominate yourself for membership of the Council automatically.

As the remit of this group would suggest we are keen to have representatives from companies HQ’d, based and employing across the UK. This new committee wants to encourage and reflect the strength of the tech sector across the whole of the UK.

To nominate yourself or a colleague, simply read through the Terms of Reference (ToR) and complete the form by 17:00 on Monday 12 February 2024.

You can see the timeline for the elections set out below:

  • 10 January – Nominations open for new Nations & Regions Council members
  • 12 February – Nominations close at 17:00
  • 15 February - Elections open (if we receive more nominations than places)
  • 29 February – Elections close at 17:00
  • 4 March – New Council members announced
  • 25 March – NRC meeting
