Nominations now open for the techUK Smart Infrastructure Systems Council

If your organisation works across energy, heat, water or transport, this is your chance to help shape the future of UK infrastructure – and position yourself and your organisation as a recognised voice in your sector.

The Smart Infrastructure Systems (SIS) Council is techUK’s leadership body guiding the SIS programme. By joining, you’ll help determine strategic priorities, influence engagement with policymakers, and strengthen collaboration across sectors.

What the Council Does

The SIS Council:

  • Sets the strategic direction for workstreams within the SIS programme
  • Represents techUK members across energy, utilities, and transport as a united voice shaping major infrastructure policy decisions and holding Government and regulators to account
  • Leads regular engagement with key stakeholders and decision-makers on sector-wide challenges and opportunities
  • Enables businesses to build stronger cross-sector relationships, supporting commercialised and system-wide innovation

Why You Should Get Involved

Joining the SIS Council gives you the opportunity to:

  • Shape the future of the UK’s infrastructure agenda – put your sector’s priorities and insights at the heart of techUK’s work
  • Be seen as a thought leader in your industry – gain recognition among peers, stakeholders, and regulators as someone helping set the sector’s direction
  • Engage directly with decision-makers – sit at the table with senior policymakers and regulators influencing your industry
  • Amplify your organisation’s voice – ensure your perspective is heard in cross-sector strategic discussions
  • Forge valuable connections – build relationships across energy, utilities, and transport that can spark innovation and new opportunities

This is your chance to actively influence the agenda, be a visible voice in your sector, and help drive system-wide change.

Who Should Nominate?

Any techUK member active in energy, heat, water, or transport can nominate a representative.

Nominees must be able to commit to attending and actively participating in Council meetings and activities as set out in the Terms of Reference (ToR).

techUK encourages nominations that reflect diverse perspectives and experiences, supporting a Council that is inclusive, representative, and innovative.
