International E-Waste Day 2025
We’re marking International E-Waste Day (14th October)* this year with the return of our most impactful campaign yet - The Great Cable Challenge!
Last year, local authorities, schools, community groups, brands, waste management companies and compliance schemes came together and helped spark a national movement - saving hundreds of kilos of copper from our old cables from going to waste. But with millions more cables and other electricals still being binned or sitting in drawers, the challenge is far from over.
We need your help to spread the word!
Our Great Cable Challenge communications toolkit is now available, with everything you need to help spread the word this International E-Waste Day. Please feel free to share this with your members and encourage them to download the toolkit to access:
✅ Social media assets and suggested copy, ready to share straight away
✅ Posters, flyers, bin stickers and press release templates, to help if you’re holding a collection
✅ Email templates to send to your members
We can’t wait to work together to make this the biggest International E-Waste Day yet!
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or want to discuss your plans for IEWD 2025!
*IEWD was founded by the WEEE Forum, the international association representing producer responsibility organisations. The UK lead member is Ecogenesys (formerly REPIC). IEWD is open to any one to participate.
