Industry engagement to shape minimum capabilities for falls prevention technology

techUK is supporting an industry engagement programme led by Care City to develop a minimum capabilities framework for sensor-based falls prevention and detection technologies in adult social care. Suppliers are invited to contribute through interviews and workshops to help shape practical guidance that may inform future commissioning and assurance expectations across the sector.

techUK is supporting a new programme of industry engagement led by Care City, in partnership with the Digitising Social Care (DiSC) programme and overseen by the London Borough of Redbridge, focused on developing minimum capabilities for sensor-based falls prevention and detection technologies in adult social care.

The project aims to create a clear, practical and achievable minimum capabilities framework for non-wearable, sensor-based falls technologies, providing a shared baseline for suppliers, care providers, commissioners and people drawing on care. By reducing ambiguity around definitions, requirements and expectations, the framework is intended to support more consistent commissioning, assurance and deployment across the sector.
