Call for contributions: Tech for Environmental Outcomes
techUK is launching a new series, Tech for Environmental Outcomes, to spotlight how our members are delivering positive, tangible impacts for the environment.
Technology companies are working to solve some of the hardest problems in climate, nature, and resource management; from AI-powered biodiversity monitoring to circular economy platforms, or data centre efficiency innovations to satellite-based deforestation tracking.
This work happens quietly, often recognised only within the climate-tech community. Therefore, this "Tech for Environmental Outcomes" series is designed give techUK members a platform to showcase real, deployed, or near-market solutions that are driving tangible environmental outcomes, and to strengthen the evidence base underpinning techUK's climate and nature policy work.
We are also aiming to raise the profile of the climate and nature tech sectors in the UK by building a “library” of resources with information on tech-enabled environmental solutions that we can point to in policy conversations with government, regulators, and the media.
What we’re looking for
We welcome contributions from members showcasing technology or solutions addressing any of the following (this list is illustrative, not exhaustive):
Nature and biodiversity: monitoring, mapping, natural capital accounting, biodiversity net gain (BNG) tools, TNFD-aligned disclosure solutions
Climate mitigation and adaptation: carbon measurement/reporting, energy efficiency, grid optimisation, climate risk modelling
Circular economy: waste reduction, product life-extension platforms, material recovery or reuse
Data centre sustainability: energy efficiency, water use reduction, heat reuse, nature-positive site design
Supply chains: traceability, responsible sourcing
Environmental data and AI: earth observation, predictive analytics, environmental impact modelling
Solutions can be at any stage of maturity (live and scaled, in pilot, or close to market) provided there is a demonstrable environmental outcome.
Format
A short, focused presentation (20min – 1h) of your technology or solution, followed by an optional Q&A.
Sessions will be:
Hosted live via Teams
Recorded and published on the techUK website, forming a permanent, growing resource on tech-enabled environmental solutions
Open to techUK member and non-member attendees at the point of broadcast, with the recording publicly accessible afterwards
Contributors are welcome to submit a short, written blog to accompany their session, which would be published alongside the video recording on the techUK website. This is a good opportunity to include case studies, data, or detail that doesn't fit neatly into a live format.
Who can take part
Showcasing a technology or solution in a live session is open to techUK members or official partners only.
Why take part
Reach techUK's policy, industry, and media audiences, with content that has a permanent home on our website
Establish your organisation as a credible voice at the intersection of technology and environmental delivery
Contribute real-world evidence that strengthens techUK's advocacy on nature, climate, and circular economy policy with government and regulators
Connect with other members working on adjacent environmental challenges
How to submit
To register your interest, please provide:
Company name and contact details
A short (2–3 sentence) description of the technology or solution you'd like to showcase
Preferred format (live session only, or live session + written blog)
We will follow up to confirm scheduling, format details, and any technical or editorial support you may need ahead of your session.
Climate, Environment and Sustainability Programme activities
The techUK Climate Programme provides opportunities for members to present tech solutions that assist carbon emission reduction, circularity, and human rights goals. We also help our members with their own net zero transition, including measurement, implementation, compliance, and reporting. Visit the programme page here.
