techUK is delighted to be hosting HMRC for a market engagement event to provide information on a potential procurement for services covering an Application Testing Service on 11 August from 13:00 - 14:00.

This session will allow HMRC to outline to industry the current thinking around the potential approach to packaging and procuring these services. They will also provide an opportunity to present the current estate, the desired future state, the requirements and modernisation opportunities and subject to approval, an indicative timeline. HMRC is seeking through its engagement with the market to stimulate innovation that will enable them to drive greater automation, earlier testing in the development lifecycle and deployment of leading-edge testing practices that drive value for money.

The current Test and Release Service (T&RS) provides end-to-end test management and system integration testing and assurance to HMRC. It is a managed test service that forms part of the release assurance process in HMRC and is a critical part of protecting live services. T&RS performs test and release services for many IT-related deliveries across major programmes and projects such as Making Tax Digital, Pensions Online Digital Service (PODS) and EU Transition.

The current service includes a service catalogue of nine T&RS services.

HMRC's current thinking is to utilise Crown Commercial Services – RM6148 – Quality Assurance and Testing for IT Systems 2 Framework. The DPS framework is specifically designed for services for use by the whole of the public sector and their associated bodies and agencies.

Attending this market engagement event will enable potential suppliers of an Application Testing Service to gain early insight into the current thinking and will provide an opportunity for questions and answers.
