On Thursday 6 October from 12:00 - 13:00, techUK is delighted to be hosting the Procurement Reform team from the Cabinet Office for an online industry briefing on the Procurement Bill.
As you may be aware, in December 2020 the Government published the long-awaited green paper Transforming Public Procurement, outlining their proposals on shaping the future of public procurement in the UK for many years to come. The Government’s key objectives are to speed up and simplify its procurement processes; to ensure value for the taxpayer, and to encourage innovation and competition by making it easier for SMEs to win Government contracts.
Following the consultation period, the Procurement Bill is now about to make its way through Parliament and expected to become official legislation in early 2023. It will be a key part of the Government’s legislative programme for this Parliamentary session, and it will have implications for all technology companies that supply to the public sector, so make sure to book your place.
The event will:
- Provide an overview of the Procurement Bill currently making its way through Parliament
- Highlight the impact the bill is likely to have on tech companies
- Provide an opportunity to engage with the Procurement Reform team.
