Georgina Henley will be speaking at this year's Transforming Justice Through Technology Event - 2nd November 2022, 9:00am - 3:00pm.

This event organised by the Institute of Government and Public Policy (IGPP) will explore what role technology will play in addressing the criminal justice system's challenges. It will look into key commitments such as the Ministry of Justice’s plans to enable the digital transformation of services for over 1 million users, developing digital services to support priorities and improve access to services. As individuals move from the police station right through to probation, the event will address how secure access to technology and data can deliver the right services for users, enhance efficiencies and transform rehabilitation outcomes.

The Government wants to provide digital justice and high-quality rehabilitation programmes to protect the public while also dispensing justice quickly and accurately. To do this, a criminal justice system that is responsive, flexible, transparent, and just, and places those it serves at the centre of everything, is required. This must contain a vision of a criminal justice system that is technologically advanced.

At a time the Ministry of Justice has seen its budget increase to £11.5 billion to be invested by the end of this parliament, this event will aim to demonstrate how technology has the power to deliver a first-class criminal justice system fit for the modern age.
