Nominations now OPEN to join techUK’s Local Public Services Committee (LPSC) 2025-2027

techUK members can now nominate themselves for a position on the Local Public Services Committee.

Are you an industry leader in local government? We want to hear from YOU!

Nominations are now open for twenty techUK members to join our Local Public Services Committee (LPSC) for a tenure of two years (October 2025 – September 2027). If you’re passionate about driving change and reform in the sector then please read the Terms of Reference and nominate yourself to be part of the LPSC. The primary role of the LPSC is to represent the tech sector at a high level to local government and all relevant bodies and sets the strategic direction of techUK’s Local Public Services programme, contributing to forward planning and ensuring the programme accurately reflects members’ and our council partners priorities.

We are also electing the positions of Chair and two Vice-Chairs of the Committee (one is reserved for an SME Vice Chair). Ten of the seats on the Committee are reserved for Small and Medium sized Enterprise (SME) representatives.

This is a great opportunity for members to further raise their profile in the local government tech community and help steer the work of techUK’s Local Public Services Programme.

The LPSC will meet six times a year with a mixture of in person and virtual meetings. Given the nature of our sector, we will also be holding meetings in the regions to connect with as many councils across the country. You can see what previous iterations of the Committee have achieved here.

You have till the 19 September to return your application. You can see the timeline for the elections set out below:

  • 1 September – Nominations open for new Committee members
  • 19 September – Nominations close at 17:00
  • 25 September - Elections open (if we receive more nominations than places)
  • 6 October – Elections close at 17:00
  • 13 October– New Committee members announced
  • 21 October– LPSC meeting

To nominate yourself or a colleague, simply read through the Terms of Reference (ToR) and complete the form by 19 September. The first meeting of the committee will take place on 21 October.

Should you have any questions about the process or the Local Public Services programme, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
