Are you a cyber security company providing products or services related to software and AI security?
Earlier this year, DSIT and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) launched the AI Cyber Security Code of Practice and the Software Security Code of Practice. They also supported international efforts, through the European Telecommunications Standard Institute (ETSI), to establish a global standard for AI cyber security (EN 304 223).
DSIT has now commissioned Pye Tait Consulting to conduct a survey of UK-based organisations providing AI and/or software cyber security services. The survey will help identify the services and tools available to UK businesses and organisations, including those that support adherence to the Software Security Code of Practice and the global standard for AI security.
Organisations can participate by completing the online AI survey here or the software security survey here. You can also register your interest to receive a call-back here.
The purpose of this research is to build on existing market analysis to help us identify the range of services and tools offered, assess the extent to which these services and tools will help organisations meet DSIT policy, assess awareness of relevant codes and standards, and explore how AI is currently used in cyber security. The findings will inform future policy and help ensure the UK remains a global leader in secure software and AI innovation.
There is a question in the survey asking consent for contact details to be passed to DSIT - this will be used by DSIT to update you on future policy if you would like them to. More details are in the privacy notice here: Research on mapping the AI and software cyber security services market - GOV.UK
The survey should take no more than 20 minutes to complete and closes on 23 January 2026.
DSIT are looking specifically for cybersecurity companies providing cybersecurity services or tools that relate to secure software development (e.g. testing tools, SCA - anything that can help their clients with software security).
Separately, DSIT are interested in hearing insights on the implementation of software security practices themselves and are collecting evidence through a separate piece of research here.
All information collected will be treated in strict confidence by Pye Tait Consulting and shared with DSIT only in anonymised, aggregated form. Privacy notices are available here for Pye Tait and here for DSIT.
