techUK is pleased to host a collaborative session with the NHS London Procurement Partnership (LPP) to help shape the scope of its upcoming Flexible AI Framework, designed to support organisations in the early stages of their AI adoption journey.

This is building on an initial webinar session that was held on 12 August 12.

NHS LPP are in the initial stages of developing an open framework for Clinical Apps and AI for the NHS and social care.

The open framework will provide a breadth of opportunities for organisations to start using applications and technologies both in clinical and administrative settings across a full range of healthcare sectors.  The technologies are highly adaptable and so can support a range of non-healthcare related applications as well.

As AI is still relatively immature in its application within the healthcare sector and this framework recognises that level of immaturity by providing some innovative procurement options. These include being able to let a contract which has an initial discounted pilot phase to allow for initial discovery, adoption and implementation supported by the ability to cancel after an initial period if required.

The session will bring together techUK members, NHS Chief Information Officers, and NHS LPP to explore:

  • How to ensure the framework supports access to a wide range of clinically assured and innovative AI solutions;
  • Opportunities to build in flexible procurement pathways, such as pilot phases with exit points;
  • How to best reflect evolving standards and maintain robust safety and governance measures; and
  • Key areas where supplier input can strengthen alignment with real-world market needs.

This event is open to SME members interested in helping shape how AI technologies are procured across health and care settings. Your feedback will help ensure the framework is practical, inclusive, and responsive to innovation in clinical, operational, and administrative settings.
