Member roundtable: call for views on Secure AI Infrastructure
12pm – 1pm17 February 2026
Online
On Tuesday 17 February, 12:00 – 13:00, techUK will be holding an online member roundtable to gather views on the recently published Call for Views on Secure AI Infrastructure.
Purpose of the roundtable
AI (artificial intelligence) models have rapidly grown in value and capability, making them an attractive target from sophisticated attackers. These attacks can vary in severity, but in the worst cases may lead to the loss of sensitive data, theft of AI models, manipulation of systems behaviour, service disruption or the compromise of wider systems and security measures.
In response to this, the government has published a call for views on the opportunities and challenges associated with secure AI infrastructure, aiming to inform future policy and decision-making. The response to the call for views will inform the work of a new research programme led by DSIT, the AI Security Institute (AISI) and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).
The call for views invites input on how infrastructure can support the safe, secure and effective deployment of AI technologies. The government are looking to understand two key problem areas:
the security challenge and current approaches
the capabilities that could strengthen protection
This roundtable will provide techUK members with an opportunity to share their feedback on the current perceived risks and mitigation approaches, deployment considerations, key dependencies, effectiveness and assurance, and barriers to adoption, including mechanisms to accelerate progress in the supplementary policy interventions, and DSIT’s wider approach.
You can read techUK’s summary of the government’s call for views here. Please note that the call for views will close on 28 February.
