Throughout 2021, techUK held a series of events on the topic of digital ID, exploring the role this technology can play in tackling key challenges across society and the economy, and determining what more needs to be done to drive adoption as the UK economy begins to recover from the impact of the pandemic. And looking ahead to the coming year, techUK will be carrying on the conversation with its Digital Identity Event Series 2022!

As we seek to further the adoption of digital identities across the economy, ensuring that verification systems are accurate and personal information is kept secure is critical to building trust. Distributed ledger technologies (DLT) like blockchain can provide such secure management of digital identities, putting security at the core with tamperproof processes and a permanent record of actions, whilst holding the promise of a decentralised system that puts users directly and autonomously in control of their identity information.

In collaboration with techUK's Blockchain Reimagined campaign, join us as we unpack how distributed ledger and digital identity technology can work together, the potential opportunities these technologies can provide for government, businesses and users, as well as the significant challenges that must be addressed for the benefits of these combined technologies to be recognised.
