Clean energy infrastructure connectivity: building the communications backbone for net zero
10am – 12.30pm2 December 2025
London
techUK, 10 St Bride Street, London, EC4A 4AD
Britain's journey to net zero is fundamentally dependent on intelligent, responsive energy networks that can coordinate millions of devices in real-time. From offshore wind farms to home EV chargers, the energy transition requires a sophisticated communications infrastructure that can enable peak-time flexibility, demand response, and grid stability at unprecedented scale.
This exclusive roundtable brings together leaders from telecoms, energy, and government to explore the communication requirements underpinning our smart energy future. We'll examine the practical challenges of connecting distributed energy resources, enabling real-time grid optimisation, and ensuring the cybersecurity of critical national infrastructure.
Regarding consumers, peak-time demand management requires seamless communication with electric vehicle chargers that can delay charging during high demand, home batteries that discharge during peak periods, and industrial processes that shift timing to avoid grid stress. Each interaction demands reliable, low-latency communication networks spanning the entire energy system.
Who should attend:
Telecommunications infrastructure providers
Energy network operators and suppliers
Smart grid technology vendors
Cybersecurity specialists
This cross-programme initiative with techUK's Smart Infrastructure and Systems team represents a unique opportunity to help us shape the communications framework that will underpin Britain's energy transformation.
