techUK is proud to host this event showcasing the findings of the RAISE (Responsible Generative AI for SMEs in UK and Africa) project. Join us for an insightful afternoon exploring how SMEs can adopt generative AI responsibly and effectively.

This event will provide practical guidance for SMEs looking to leverage generative AI technologies while navigating ethical, social, and legal considerations. Attendees will gain actionable insights for implementing AI in their businesses, learn from leading researchers and practitioners, connect with like-minded SME leaders and potential partners, and discover how ethical AI adoption can become a competitive advantage. This event offers an opportunity to stay ahead in the rapidly evolving AI landscape while ensuring responsible implementation.

The successful integration of AI technologies within SMEs requires robust assurance mechanisms that balance innovation with responsibility. Unlike larger enterprises with dedicated compliance teams, SMEs face unique challenges in implementing these assurance frameworks due to limited resources, technical expertise, and regulatory knowledge. This event specifically addresses these challenges by offering tailored approaches that are practical and accessible for smaller organisations. By providing SMEs with the right tools and understanding, we can ensure AI adoption that not only drives business growth but also maintains ethical standards, builds customer trust, and creates sustainable competitive advantages in an increasingly AI-driven marketplace.

About the RAISE Project

The RAISE (Responsible Generative AI for SMEs in UK and Africa) project is funded under Responsible AI UK and focuses on exploring the responsible AI challenges that Small and Medium Enterprises face when using Generative AI systems in the UK and Africa.

The project's core mission is twofold:

  • To empower SMEs with practical tools for ethical AI adoption
  • To foster innovation that aligns with environmental sustainability, social desirability, and ethical acceptability

Through collaborative case studies, co-creation workshops, and hands-on testing of the RAISE guidelines, the project is building a robust framework to support SMEs in developing AI-driven products and services responsibly.
