Join the Climate Council - nominations close 3 October

techUK members can nominate themselves for the Climate Council, the board of members that set our views on climate and net zero.

techUK members are encouraged to join the techUK Climate Council, the elected board of members which sets the strategic direction, policy positions and work programme of the climate programme. To get a better idea of what we do on climate (and broader sustainability) you can see our 2025 work programme here.

Nominations are open until 3 October 2025 and we'll hold an election if we get lots of applicants. For background joining the Council is a great way to promote yourselves as leaders in climate and also to play a strategic role in our climate work ranging from what we think about carbon offsets, transition plans, the role of tech, adaptation and UK climate policy. It is also a super interesting time to join as net zero is becoming more politicised as well as more mainstream, and is a great opportunity for you and your business to shape what the sector thinks/says/does on climate.

For our councils it's really important we get a diversity of companies and job titles so want to see nominations from corporates, SMEs and start ups, and don't mind if you're a device manufacturer, telco, platform, software provider, data centre, system integrator or a consultancy. We also want a cross-section of expertise so don't be put off if you're not 'the climate person' as we want council members from all backgrounds so don't care if you’re in policy, engineering, sales, legal, comms, R&D, operations or sustainability, we're looking for keen people who like putting their minds to big systems-level issues.
