Event roundup: techUK & Water Innovation Series: All-IP - Solution Showcase
Following on from the April 28 water innovation briefing as the Water sector faces the upcoming switch off of the analog PSTN network, techUK invited technology companies to showcase alternative solutions to these utilities on Tuesday, 10 May.
Welsh Water opened the hybrid event by recapping the challenge posed by the migration to digital phone lines and their need for another solution to complement the mobile network and provide connectivity where the mobile footprint doesn’t yet reach.
Arqiva opened the forum. The British telecommunications company as a UK Critical National Infrastructure provider is already experienced in the delivery of smart water metering. For PSTN replacement services they offer a range of managed network solutions. Where products remain under development they are looking to bring these to the market September 2022. You can download the presentation here.
Vodafone then outlined their approach. As an experienced company in the IoT space, their offerings include cellular, fixed and satellite solutions. They align their technology with performance requirements to get to the lowest cost and offer bespoke solutions to power resilience.
You can listen to the recording for this session here.
To recap, you can access the recording and slides from the first part of the PSTN Solution briefing here.
