Event Round-up: NS&I Rainbow Programme - Digital Integration & ServiceOps Procurement Package Briefing

A summary & recording of NS&I Rainbow Programme's market engagement session on 18 May 2021.

On Tuesday 18 May 2021 techUK partnered with NS&I (National Savings and Investments) to host the second in a series of strategic industry engagement events to help the organisation meet its changing digital, data, operational and technology requirements. This programme of work is called the Rainbow Programme.

This particular event invited industry to a focused discussion on the programme’s first procurement package – Digital Integration & ServiceOps, which is intended to be the technical and operational centre of the Future Operating Model. It will focus on the delivery of a Future Integration Platform to support future business change, as well as ServiceOps capabilities to establish a stable state for delivery of long-term business objectives

The session kicked-off with a quick recap of the Rainbow programme’s vision, strategy,  future services and key aims. The NS&I team then covered the Digital Integration and ServiceOps procurement in more detail, sharing their initial thinking on the technical capabilities the Future Integration Platform will be required to support (and the typical service models which come with these platforms), as well as the ServiceOps capabilities which will sit alongside it (and will be used to aggregate the service dashboards across all of NS&I’s future packages).Throughout this part of the session, attendees had the opportunity to provide real-time feedback on particular points via Slido.

Next, an overview of the commercial model and the key aspects of NS&I’s collaboration approach was provided. Attendees were also given more information on the procurement approach for this package, which will use Competitive Procedure with Negotiation; and the indicative timescale, including the anticipated July 2021 launch.

Finally, the team highlighted the next steps planned to keep suppliers informed which includes a follow-up engagement event in July which will focus on the second procurement package – Digital Experience & Digital Enablement. (Keep an eye on our events page for more info!)

Along with the slides from the presentation, a supplier survey was issued to all registered attendees after the event and NS&I would like all responses to be returned to them by Wednesday 26 May.
