Call for contributions: Human Rights Campaign Week
From 16-20 February, techUK will be running a Human Rights Campaign Week, during which we will turn the spotlight on the interaction between tech and human rights.
Human rights considerations have rapidly evolved from ‘traditional’ issues around supply chain transparency and data privacy to much wider ‘value chain’ concerns, particularly with the advent and rapid rollout of AI. Firms now need to factor in unprecedented and often poorly understood risks and complications to their approach towards upholding human rights throughout their business operations.
This is also increasingly a regulated area — from the UK setting up a new Office for Responsible Business Conduct, to evolving European laws and international obligations — meaning businesses in all industries need to start understanding present and potential human rights implications.
As such, we are running the campaign week to push forward the conversation around human rights by showcasing existing expertise within techUK and our membership. Each day of the week will have a specific theme; we are looking for members to submit blogs, videos and other content to discuss various aspects of this important issue as it becomes more important to business.
