Report launch: Spectrum landscape for lunar communications
Every generation or so, a new frontier opens up for communications and with it, a chance to help write the rules. The Moon is that frontier today, and the UK is better placed than most to shape how it develops.
At this session, the UK Spectrum Policy Forum publishes a new study on the spectrum landscape for lunar communications, walking through the key findings and recommendations on coexistence, far-side protection, regulatory reform, and the UK's path into WRC-27.
The study finds that the UK's combination of commercial lunar capability and expertise in radio astronomy gives it a credible, conflict-free voice in international proceedings and that the decisions taken in the next few years will set the operating norms for the lunar environment for decades to come. This is the moment for the UK to engage, and this report is designed to inform exactly that.
Why Attend?
Alongside the report launch, the session offers the full UK SPF Plenary experience. Effective spectrum management is essential for building resilient communication networks and addressing the surging demand for wireless connectivity in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape. As a strategic forum bridging industry and policymakers, the UK Spectrum Policy Forum (SPF) unites diverse stakeholders around a forward-looking vision that supports the growth of the UK economy and drives innovation.
