About the series

This is the final session in our series of three Trusted Research workshops. Together these workshops are shaping a cultural approach to Trusted Research, ahead of the Trusted & Secure Research Conference in February 2026.

The workshops are open to those directly involved in the Trusted Research space, as well as techUK members who are interested in supporting this initiative. For members, this offers the chance to connect technology practice with lived cultural change, demonstrating how solutions and services can reinforce secure behaviours and strengthen resilience across research environments.

Structure

Each workshop runs for two hours as a guided conversation. Participants will work collaboratively to identify practical enablers, discuss peer norms, and explore how culture-first approaches can strengthen Trusted Research in practice.

This session

Workshop 3 will focus on embedding Trusted Research in practice through cultural levers and peer norms, rather than relying only on controls and compliance.

Questions we will reflect on:

  • Where do technical or procedural controls succeed or fail because of culture?
  • How can training, onboarding and incident response be reframed as cultural reinforcements?
  • What kinds of recognition, feedback or peer influence have the greatest impact?
