At London Climate Action Week the government published three key consultations for businesses around business net zero transitions and reporting. These will be the UK basis for how businesses will disclose and be transparent on their climate agendas and sustainability performance and detailed summaries were shared with members.  However these are complicated proposals and to help members understand the policy proposals, impacts on tech firms and to get an idea of how industry would like to respond we are hosting this webinar for members to discuss. As a reminder the three key consultations are below:

The consultations have September deadlines so techUK will use July to put basic answers together and August to collate feedback from members on the proposals. In very broad terms techUK will be keen to stress the importance of international harmonisation and alignment, consistency of definitions and long term regulatory and policy stability. The government has recognised this by basing SRS’ on the ISSB and using the Transition Plan Taskforce frameworks, however more detail is needed.

Climate, Environment and Sustainability Programme activities

The techUK Climate Programme provides opportunities for members to present tech solutions that assist carbon emission reduction, circularity, and human rights goals. We also help our members with their own net zero transition, including measurement, implementation, compliance, and reporting. Visit the programme page here.
