techUK member roundtable on government’s Call for views on software resilience and security for businesses and organisations
2pm – 3.30pm3 April 2023
Online
Following a recent roundtable with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) on government’s Call for views on software resilience and security for businesses and organisations, techUK will be running a further session with members on Monday 3 April (14.00-15.30) to gather their general input and cover the parts of consultation document that were not touched upon during the session with DSIT.
More about this Call for Views
Through this Call for Views, government aims to better understand where to prioritise any support available to software customers, distributors and developers and the digital environments they operate in order to boost organisational resilience across the UK.
The Call for Views also seeks input to understand how the government can support companies to mitigate risks linked to software, where that support should be prioritised with regard to the numerous industry players, and how to support industry in its own initiatives to improve organisational resilience.
The purpose of this roundtable
This online roundtable discussion will help to further inform techUK’s official response to this Call for Views and we would encourage members interested in software resilience and security to come along.
We will touch upon all three parts of the consultation – 1) the cyber security risks associated with software; 2) the measures industry already has in place to manage these risks; and 3) a broader discussion on the future action could government take to support/incentivise UK companies to better address software security risks – as well as their relevant questions within the consultation document.

The Cyber Security Programme provides a channel for our industry to engage with commercial and government partners to support growth in this vital sector, which underpins and enables all organisations. The programme brings together industry and government to overcome the joint challenges the sector faces and to pursue key opportunities to ensure the UK remains a leading cyber nation, including on issues such as the developing threat, bridging the skills gap and secure-by-design.
Our new group will keep techUK members updated on the latest news and views from across the Cyber security landscape. The group will also spotlight events and engagement opportunities for members to get involved in.
