On Wednesday 30 June (2-3pm) techUK is pleased to host an in-conversation event between Roger Taylor, outgoing Chair of the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation (CDEI) and Antony Walker, techUK Deputy CEO. In his first event since stepping down as Chair of the CDEI Roger Taylor, will be sharing his reflections and insights on what it was like to establish and then lead the work of the CDEI at a time where the issue of digital ethics had become centre stage. As the CDEI begin the search for a new Chair and refreshed Board this session will discuss the important role for the CDEI, the possible future focus for its work and what advice Roger has for its new leaders in the weeks and months to come.

In light of the recent publication of the Government’s response to the National Data Strategy and the announcement of a new National AI Strategy, expected later this year, the session will also explore the direction of travel the UK is taking around AI and data and examine where we are right now, what we are getting right and looking at what comes next in terms of issues that require action.
