Huw Evans is a partner and Head of Insurance at KPMG UK. In addition to leading the Insurance practice, he works on market analysis and coverage, regulatory & political impacts and topics relating to the future of Insurance.
Huw joined KPMG from the Association of British Insurers (ABI) which he led for 7 years as its Director General. He brings extensive knowledge and understanding of the insurance and long-term savings market and its regulation. During his time at the ABI, Huw led the insurance sector’s response to Brexit and Covid-19 as well as key issues such as Solvency II reform, implementation of the Freedom & Choice pension changes and GI Pricing reform.
Huw sat on the Executive Committee of Insurance Europe from 2015-21 and also served as a non-executive director of
The CityUK. He helped set up Flood Re in the UK and served as the SID of its board from 2016-21. He currently sits on the City of London’s Competitiveness Advisory Board.
Previously Huw worked in Group Strategy at RBS and as a special advisor in 10 Downing Street and the Home Office in Sir Tony Blair’s government. He began his career as a journalist having studied Modern History at university.
Sarah Jones is the Chief Executive Officer at FinTech Wales. She joined the organisation in 2022 as Head of Marketing, later became Chief Marketing Officer, and was appointed CEO in 2025.
Bringing over 25 years of award-winning marketing experience across a wide range of sectors, including finance, tech, legal, HR, healthcare, and education, Sarah is known for her strategic vision and collaborative approach. She has been a driving force in raising the profile of Welsh fintechs and giving Wales’ fintech community a stronger voice on the global stage.
Passionate about championing innovation and growth within Wales’ fintech and financial services ecosystem, Sarah also contributes her expertise beyond FinTech Wales. She sits on the Advisory Panel for Mastering Diversity and is committed to creating opportunities that empower people and businesses to thrive.
As CEO, she is focused on supporting members, fostering inclusive growth, and ensuring Wales is recognised internationally as a leading hub for financial technology.
