On 7 December last year, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Bank of England published a consultation paper considering new rules for technology firms deemed critical to UK financial services firms and the sector.  These new powers were granted under the  Financial Services and Markets Act and aim to assess and strengthen the resilience of material services provided by critical third parties to the UK financial services sector.

This consultation closes on 15 March 2024 and ahead of this, our in-person event provides an opportunity to discuss the critical third party work, what is meant by 'critical', insights into how this might be supervised and compare the approaches to that of other jurisdictions such as the EU - hearing directly from policymakers involved in creating the regime.

Speakers include:

  • Bank of England
  • Amazon Web Services
  • HM Treasury
  • Shoosmiths

In addition to gaining valuable insight, there will be networking opportunities before, during and after.
