NHS England Genomics Unit – Supplier Day

techUK is delighted to welcome back the NHS England Genomics Unit for the next in its series of workshops looking at how the Unit can implement its interoperability agenda.

The Unit will be hosting a session with representation from the GLHs to discuss the activities involved in the next steps towards the delivery of the Alpha phase. This is a follow up session to the previous workshop held on April 13th. The aim of the workshop is to:

  • Provide an introduction on the key activities which have occurred internally since April.
  • Walkthrough the baselined requirements document. The key scenarios reviewed will be the management of a Non-WGS Test Request from a Requester to the GLH and a WGS Test Request from the requesting team to the GLH and sent onto GEL. These scenarios will be supported by IOP through a technical specification discussion.
  • Genomic Informatics Governance Walkthrough and FHIR Discussion.
  • Provide an overview of the key timelines and approach on the Alpha Phase.

Discussion on the evaluation of responses received by suppliers and next steps post evaluation

This will be an in-person event held at techUK offices at 10 St Bride St, London EC4A 4ADPlease note, due to space this event will be limited to two people per company.

Interoperability Working Group

The Interoperability Working Group will work towards achieving the vision set out in NHS England’s 2022 draft standards and interoperability strategy. The group will aim to encourage the adoption of open standards and fluidity of data whilst recognising the commercial needs of members. It will also focus on demonstrating the value of interoperability to NHS senior management and improving the abilities of SMEs to implement interoperability standards.
