Brigadier Stefan Crossfield is the British Army’s Chief Data Officer and Programme Director of the Army’s Digital Transformation. He was part of the Army 2020 strategic planning team and responsible as a colonel for maximising personnel talent planning. He commanded 6 Battalion REME on Operation Herrick 18. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, holds an MSc in Information Systems and an MBA, and is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Exeter Business School.

Brigadier Crossfield, will explore the challenges presented in transforming the what is currently a predominately industrial age Army to be an information age Army, fit to fight and win in the 21st Century, span across all the environment that the Army occupies.  A critical enabler of this transformation is a coherent, robust and secure digital fabric that can connect the Army together in the business and battle space seamlessly.  In this session Head IX/CDO will describe the vision, and progress so far in producing a single pattern for the digital fabric required and seek guidance, advice and insight from those attending the session.
