Our techUK Community was ‘Out Out’ for London Tech Week 2025

techUK returned to London Tech Week in early June to showcase our members and value to the industry to the estimated 30,000 international visitors.

In a week, where Government made clear indications that it is putting tech at the heart of its strategy for economic growth in its Spending Review and Tech Nation released its Unlocking the UK’s Growth Potential Report, the stage was set for the global tech industry to gather and debate how to drive forward innovation through tech.

With 500 speakers, 120 hours of content, and over 90 countries represented, this is where the global tech ecosystem intersects with the investment, innovation and talent pool which calls London home.

techUK exhibition stand and sponsors

techUK exhibited at the three-day expo from 9-11 June at Olympia. The event was well attended with delegates keen to hear from speakers including Prime Minister Keir Starmer and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. Our stand was busy every day. We spoke with hundreds of existing members, stakeholders and prospects alike about our ongoing work and value to our membership.

For the past three years, the focus of our stand has been to give a platform for SME members doing inspiring work across the sector through a sponsored space on the stand. This year was no different and you can hear from our sponsors below:::

techUK on the London Tech Week agenda

Our Deputy CEO, Antony Walker was in discussion with Dame Melanie Dawes, Chief Executive of Ofcom on the topic of  ‘Creating a Safer Life Online for UK Users; Why Compliance is Now a Competitive Edge’ where they explored how the UK’s new online safety laws are reshaping the way tech companies build, deploy, and govern digital platforms, and what’s next as Ofcom steps up enforcement.

Fringe events

To capitalise on the increase in visitors from both outside the UK and outside of London, we held several ‘fringe’ events to coincide with London Tech Week. Including:

Holding these events during London Tech Week meant we could attract a slightly different audience than could usually attend face-to-face and position techUK as a thought leader on these topics.

The largest of these fringe events was our Meet the Scalers event which brought together key stakeholders from the ecosystem to continue our campaign to better support scaling tech firms to scale and stay in the UK. Topics ranged from accessing finance, building the right talent base and expanding into new markets. Along with the opportunity for the UK Government to seize the moment and better support scaling tech firms to build the next tech sector giant.
