#LPSInnovation: Hear how Dorset, Redbridge & Norfolk are driving innovation
From 23-27 May techUK held #LPSInnovation week, showcasing the innovation happening across local government and exploring the emerging technologies and the conditions needed to transform the delivery and outcomes of local public services through a series of guest blogs, events and a paper launch. Enclosed is the recording of all the events held during the week.
Creating the conditions for local public services innovation to thrive
During #LPSInnovation week we launched a short paper - Local Public Services Innovation: Creating a catalyst for change - outlining how local public services can grasp the innovation opportunity and maximise the benefits they derive from digital technologies and their suppliers. We bough together industry and local government to review the recommendations and discuss how we take them forward. Redbridge and Norfolk set out what innovation looks like for their council and place and how they anticipate collaborating with suppliers to drive innovation.
The Digital Vision for Redbridge
techUK’s #LPSInnovation week coincided with Redbridge’s Make Tech Inclusive week so we collaborated and hosted the digital team for an industry briefing. It was great to have Redbridge service leads in the audience together with techUK members to better understand their plans and vision. The focus was on Government as a Platform (GaaP) and the new ways of building digital public services using collaborative development models.
Industry briefing with Dorset Council
Dorset have strong digital ambitions and vision, from 5G Rural Dorset, to transforming into a data-led intelligent council. It was great to welcome the digital team and their CEO who briefed tech suppliers about the digital vision for the council and place as well as an open and refreshing approach on how to better work with industry in solving some of the challenges they face.
