Join the Climate Council!

Nominations are open for members to set our work on climate change

techUK members are invited to put themselves forward to set the strategy for all our work relating to climate change.

The Climate Strategy and Resilience Council is our board of members that decides our work on climate and has reached the end of a 2 year fixed term.  With COP26 concluding the next 2 years will be hugely exciting and interesting when it comes to climate change. There will be a focus on tech firms implementing their net zero targets in 2022 and we expect some significant policy developments in this area (TCFD, SDR etc), as well as tremendous opportunities for tech to help decarbonise other sectors (see our COP26 hub for some great content in this regard).

Any member large and small is eligible to put themselves forward and due to the increased interest there are 25 positions up for grabs. As well as members joining the council, members are also eligible to put themselves forward as Chair/Vice Chair.

The closing date for nominations is 16 November and anyone interested should email [email protected] to formally put themselves forward. There will be an election 17 November-1 December if there are more applicants than spaces (though we also reserve the right to co-opt applicants or change the size of the council). The new council will start work in January and will set the direction of travel.

Climate is a crucial area for techUK and the wider sector and we look forward to working with the new council. If you have any questions please get in touch with [email protected]
