Nomination Closed: Join techUK’s Financial Services Council

Thanks to all members who manifested their interest and sent across their nominations to join the Financial Services Council. The nomination process is now closed and all members who have applied will now be notified with an update on the website to follow shortly.

Nominations are now open for techUK members to join our Financial Services Council. This is an excellent opportunity to shape techUK’s Financial Services Programme and work with stakeholders and the wider tech industry to transform the sector. You will provide leadership on critical issues related to Financial Services and help promote engagement between stakeholders and the tech industry. Apply by 27 September to help us shape the future of the Financials Services Technology Industry. 5 places are open for election.  

The role of the Council is to develop and lead the overall techUK Financial Services Programme, bring high-level focus to our work, and determine the programme activities moving forward. 

To apply please read through the Terms of Reference (ToR) and complete the nomination form, and return to Julia Ofori-Addo by 17:00 on Monday 27 September. Please note, members must be able to commit to attending and actively participating in the Financial Services activities as set out in the ToR before a nomination form is accepted. 

Here is the timeline for the elections:

• 27 September: Nominations close at 17:00 (extended)
• 4 October: Elections open
• 18 October: Elections close at 17:00
• 25 October: New Council members announced
• November: New members join the Financial Services Council

Andy joined techUK in August 2022 as Head of Programme – Financial Services. His role includes leading techUK’s work in building a greater understanding of the 'technological art of the possible' in order to apply it to the reform and evolution of financial systems.

Before joining techUK, Andy worked for a number of other bodies in the financial services sector, including the British Insurance Brokers’ Association, where in addition to owning policy and public affairs, he was also responsible for fostering InsurTech in the sector.

Andy has a degree in Human Biology and holds a Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII) qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute. Outside of work, Andy is an avid cyclist and races competitively both on the road as well as the velodrome.

Ella joined techUK in November 2023 as a Markets Team Assistant, supporting the Justice and Emergency Services, Central Government and Financial Services Programmes.  

Before joining the team, she was working at the Magistrates' Courts in legal administration and graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2022.  Ella attained an undergraduate degree in History and Politics, and a master's degree in International Relations and Security Studies, with a particular interest in studying asylum rights and gendered violence.  

In her spare time she enjoys going to the gym, watching true crime documentaries, travelling, and making her best attempts to become a better cook.
